Happy Wellness Wednesday!
“Farmers who wait for perfect weather never plant. If they watch every cloud, they never harvest.” Ecclesiastes 11:4
The morning sun rises
with promises new
and plenty of time
to get done what’s to do
I’d like to cook some food
to eat throughout the week
but as I walk into the kitchen
the floor could use a sweep.
I push the dirt around
and when I’m close to stopping
I notice that the tile
could use another mopping
Now the floor is slick
and as I wait for it to dry
I wipe down all the counters
and the dishes catch my eye
Some to unload
and others to put away
a few more to soak
and one to just throw away
Next I gather all the trash
and walk out onto the deck
But I set the bags aside
as there is more now to inspect
I straighten all the chairs
and give the rug a shake
I apologize to the plants
who paid the price for my mistakes
I walk back in the house
some hours come and gone
and still no food prepared
My single plan all along
This day may sound productive
But rather, I was reactive
requiring perfect surroundings
only got me more distracted
There will never be a day
Where EVERYTHING’S in line
But if I stick to my priorities
I know it will be just fine.
