Tri County Prevention Location
Data shows the service area has a low percentage of fruit/vegetable consumption, high percentage of smoking and very little physical activity options. The program is working to make Tri-County a rural area with better conditions to move more, eat better and be tobacco-free.
Some of the successes of the TETT Healthy Living Program in the Tri-County Region include: An Education Summit which was held in June of 2017. In which fifty percent of the schools in the service area attended. The summit allowed us to train and update school administration on the Local School Wellness Policy, Under the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010, which lead to conversations of policy/ practice tracking and establishing future partnerships. As a result, two schools strengthened their wellness and tobacco policies. A restaurant in Okfuskee County passed nutritional policies. Three businesses have passed wellness policies that will lead to improved health initiatives. A construction company in McIntosh County and a Department Store that has 24 stores in 3 states and has 1000 employees that cover several areas within TSET sectors.
