I hope ya’ll are doing well and staying warm!
This morning I was reading in my meditation book and came across a quote from Henry David Thoreau which states, “If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours.” The quote seemed to go hand in hand with today’s affirmation, “I am making things happen.”
Many times we have a vision of what we want for ourselves in regards to our relationships, projects, sobriety, finances, health, purpose, hobbies, etc. However, that vision may take weeks, months, or years of small, intentional efforts before we are able to witness the fruits of our labor. What carries us through the mundane is that feeling deep in our gut that we can’t NOT press on. It is our commitment to a future dream that prods us to do the work now…even with very little acknowledgement or sense of reward. Then, as if overnight, our secret toiling gives way to a breathtaking bloom! We are caught off guard as we take in our success on a “Monday” and wonder if anyone else is seeing this. We feel a tingling in our body and a fullness in our heart as the BIG picture and our small efforts find each other. We are truly making things happen.
Keep on keeping on! Congratulations to each of you who are doing the work and to those that are reaping what you’ve sown!
Much love to you all!
